Fifth Annual Basement Revue Series Tuesdays In December At The Dakota Tavern (2011-11-14) |

Building on a tradition now five years strong, Jason Collett will once again curate the Basement Revue series, Tuesdays this December in the intimate underground confines of Toronto’s Dakota Tavern.
This year, like in others, Collett will present an impressive collection of musicians, songwriters, authors, poets, storytellers and friends.
And, as has become tradition, each night’s performers will remain a surprise to the audience until the night of, adding to the inherent and infectious spontaneity of each show.
Former guests and performers include Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning, James Shaw of Metric, Hayden, Bryan Webb (Constantines), Buck 65, K-OS, Al Tuck, Lullabye Arkestra, Doug Paisley, Dave Bidini (Rheostatics), John K. Sampson (Weakerthans), Charles Spearin’s The Happiness Project, Luke Doucet, Julie Doiron, Melissa McClelland, The Abrams Brothers, Todor Kobakov, celebrity chef Michael P. Clive and poets Damien Rogers, Ken Babstock and Kevin Connolly.
Seventy-five tickets will be available in advance of each night - 25 each at Rotate This and Soundscapes - and 25 available via GalleryAC.com.
Tickets are $25. Doors each night will be at 8:30, with shows starting around 9:30.
Who will appear this year? You’ll have to go to find out, but there’s a pretty good chance you’ll recognize a few of the names and faces. And with 2011 marking the five-year anniversary of the annual run, you can bet Collett and company will find away to make these shows even more memorable.

Jason Collett has announced three more Ontario dates for this November, including what promises to be an intimate and very memorable evening at Toronto's Music Gallery on November 11.
Also included are stops in Waterloo and Guelph. These shows mark some of Jason's first Canadian performances in 2011, so be sure to purchase your tickets early. Tickets for the Toronto show are available directly from GalleryAC.com.

For the first time in 2011, Jason will head out on tour in Canada, playing a string of Ontario shows throughout October.
Jason spent the first half of 2011 playing shows in Europe, Australia and beyond. 2010 marked one of his busiest release years to date, with the arrival of full-length Rat A Tat Tat, EP To Wit To Woo and acoustic / alternate versions album Pony Tricks.

TORONTO TO JAPAN will be held at the TIFF Bell Lightbox, Cinema 1 on April 21, 2011.

Australian Dates Cancelled, European Dates Announced (2011-01-11) |

Due to the severe flooding throughout portions of Australia, Jason Collett and Zeus have been forced to cancel several of their remaining dates Down Under. Queensland and Byron Bay shows have been canceled, with the show scheduled for Newcastle's Great Northern Hotel on Wednesday, Jan 12 taking place as the last of the tour. Jason's next tour begins in Hamburg on February 25. He will play more than a dozen shows throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland. FULL TOUR DATES

Jason Collett has earned a short-list nomination for the CBC Radio 3 Bucky Awards! Collett gets the nod to enter the final field for Most Canadian Song, for his "Love Song To Canada" off of 2010 EP To Wit To Woo.
The short-list is comprised of five Canadian Independent artists who have been nominated and subsequently selected from long-list voting by listeners of CBC Radio 3. Starting November 1, at 2pm ET, voting will go live on CBCRadio3.com determine the final winner of each category. Voting closes at midnight ET on Sunday, November 28th.

Jason Collett To Release Pony Tricks, An Intimate Collection Of Reworked Songs (2010-10-04) |

Jason Collett will share yet another aspect of his immense musical talent, releasing Pony Tricks, a reworked acoustic collection of 11 songs, including two never-before released tracks, October 12. What was originally intended as an EP of re-imagined Collett songs stripped to their core, quickly snowballed into a powerful 38 minutes of music that simultaneously exposes and celebrates Collett’s solo prowess and the intrinsic storytelling that makes his songs so unforgettable. Coinciding with the release of Pony Tricks, Collett will head out on The Undressed Tour, a true cross Canada run of solo acoustic dates that kicks off in Peterborough on October 14, touches both coasts and includes Collett’s first ever show in Newfoundland (complete dates). Jason Collett is set to embark on a nationwide run of solo acoustic dates slated for the fall of 2010. Dubbed The Undressed Tour Jason will make his way diligently across Canada from tip to tip - including his first ever appearance in Newfoundland - starting October 14th in Peterborough, ON.
